A P&S camera for Mommy's Purse!

Okay, I can't count the number of times that I was in a perfect "scrapbook" moment and did not have my camera with me (I shoot with a Nikon D70..and love it). You gals with DSLR's know what I mean, we love those cameras but they are so bulky and lenses....etc...etc....so much to carry, most of the time I have to "plan" to take pictures. So I really needed a P&S for those random moments. I am a Nikon girl, but love all the pictures so many of my friends take with their Cannon's, so I took the plunge and got a Cannon P&S (shhhhh...don't tell Mr. Nikon). I have not read any instruction manuals yet, just charged the battery and begin pressing the shutter release. I think I am gonna love this little guy! Hubby is already trying to snatch it to document recruit tattoos, yes, weird I know....must be an Army thing.

What is she going to be when she grows up?

I often wonder what she is going to be when she grows up. We try to make every attempt to expose her to as many different things as possible. This past weekend she has really been into photography. Because she loves to walk around with mommy as mommy finds things to take pictures, we thought, "Hey, she should have her own camera!" So...we got her this cute "Hello Kitty" Camera that actually takes decent pictures 3MP is perfect for her. So this was Alyssa taking pictures of Abbie (our Yorkie) and of a walking stick bug. Such concentration. I can't help to wonder if she just might be some great photographer one day. Although, her latest thing is that she wants to be a dentist (like Dr. Suzie in StoneOak) or on American Idol. Do you see the similarities....us either....that is just the way we like it!

Does anyone else have a Harry Potter addict?

He uses it as an excuse, that there is just nothing to do (because of all the rain we are getting) but read--- actually listen to the audio of the new Harry Potter book. It is a craze! Although, I must admit that I am guilty, because as soon as I see him change CD's I ask him what happened. Chad is funny, sitting with his headphones on, junk food by his side, and an occasional talk to the computer screen for poor Harry Potter. I think since he is on vacation (a rarity for an Army recruiter) he is retaliating and is boycotting Army life by not shaving, absolutely no PT, not think of a million things to do, and does not answer his cell phone. Haha, poor guy, I think he did need this break with Harry. But, I can barely contain myself that perhaps today he might finally be done and can do some of my "Honey-Do" list.

Rain..Rain..Go Away...Come Back Another Day..

I wish I could put in a call to the weather man "upstairs" and ask him/her for a special favor to stop the rain just for a while. We wanna go to Six Flags a few more times and Sea World, and would love to go to the lake without getting drenched or struck by lightening. Our summer vacation is almost over and we still have some fun to do. Although Alyssa had a great idea today to go out into the rain and play. I think the kid would live in water if I let her.
Pizzo, our Jack Russell Terrier, had a water bowl sent just for him from mother nature. While we were busy playing, he successfully lapped up a few swigs with that little pink tongue of his. And yes, he is still very fat...and yes, people at Pets Mart still mistake him for a Welsh Corgi because of his extra poundage. Poor little guy. We really do feed him diet food (although I think Lissy sneaks him a few to many jerky treats).
Off to listen to the skys gurgling....keep dry!

Mommy is Spoiled

Who would have ever known that mommy could have an entire pedicure and manicure done at home that is better than Miss Linda Wongs? Today I came home to a house of vacationers (daddy finally took some vacation days) and talk about a trashed house! Miss Maria (our goddess who visits our house every couple of weeks and cleans up the wreck) where are you? So overwhelmed I layed down on the couch and went nite-nite (at 4:00pm). Later I awoke to a little bit of a massage and DH practiced his pedicure technique on my toes..so good I know Miss Linda would give him a job (heck, who needs the Army, haha!) ! Lissy worked on my fingers, painting with cuticle oil (I still don't trust her with polish) and then they made dinner for me. Life is great, messy house and all! It is official, Chad and Lissy must love momma!

Why a blog? What is the hype about myspace? I can create a space for me!

My favorite hobby, wait I take that back, one of my hobbies is scrapbooking and another love is photography, so what better way to force myself to do both than to create a blog. Who cares if it is only me who reads it or Lissy the only one who could see her cute self on the Internet a million times, it is a kinda virtual scrapbooking. So if you like, come into our world, you are invited!
